Cathedral gears up for sound of trumpets

16th August, 2018

The Cathedral Choir is gearing up for the next installment in the Concert Series 2018.

Titled ‘Sing with sound of trumpets’ this concert takes place on Sunday 19th August at 2:15pm and involves the brass ensemble of the West Australian Fire and Emergency Services Concert Band presenting a variety-style concert with the Cathedral Choir.

The West Australian Fire and Emergency Services Concert Band has a long history and connection with the community of Perth: it has its origins in 1920 when it was formed as the 44th Battalion Band involving returned servicemen from World War I. In the 1970s, it became the TVW Channel 7 Brass Band. In addition to ANZAC Day services and other events, one of its very prominent engagements is that it plays for Perth’s annual Christmas Pageant.
