Young Enthusiastic Adult Pilgrims

Young Hearts, Strong Faith

A vibrant community for young adults (18-35) seeking faith, friendship, and purpose. Whether you’re deepening your spiritual journey, building meaningful connections, or looking for a welcoming space to grow, YEAPs is here to walk alongside you.

Join us for social gatherings, faith discussions, and service opportunities as we journey together in Christ.

Yes, it’s pure coincidence that our chaplain shares a name with YEAPs—but we like to think it’s a sign! As a newly ordained priest from St Charles Seminary in 2024, Fr Jason brings fresh energy, warmth, and a deep love for guiding young adults in their faith.

Passionate about building a strong, Christ-centred community, he walks alongside us in our journey, offering spiritual guidance, meaningful discussions, and plenty of encouragement.

Whether it’s a deep theological chat or just sharing a laugh, Fr Jason is here to support and inspire YEAPs every step of the way.

Be part of the conversation! Our WhatsApp group is the best way to stay connected, hear about upcoming events, and engage with fellow young adults on their faith journey.

To ensure a safe and welcoming space, all members are required to complete a short questionnaire before joining. This helps us better understand who’s in the group and ensures we can organise activities that suit everyone.

YEAPs is a community-led initiative designed to bring young adults together in faith, friendship, and service. While the group is connected to the Cathedral, it operates independently as a space for young adults to build relationships and grow spiritually.

We encourage all members to take personal responsibility when connecting with others, whether online or in person. As with any social setting, we advise exercising discretion and ensuring personal safety when meeting new people. While we strive to create a welcoming and respectful environment, the Cathedral is not liable for individual interactions outside of official church events.

If you ever have concerns or need guidance, our chaplain and leadership team are always here to support you.

Frequently Asked
Questions

I’m a bit older than 36—can I still join?

YEAPs is designed for young adults aged 18-35, but we understand that age is just a number! If you feel this community is the right fit for you, reach out and have a chat with us.

What kind of activities do you run?

We organise a mix of social gatherings, faith discussions, community service projects, and fun outings. Whether it’s a casual coffee catch-up, a deep dive into faith topics, or a group pilgrimage, there’s always something happening.

How often do you meet up?

There’s no set schedule, but we try to meet regularly, whether for organised events or casual catch-ups. Stay updated by joining our WhatsApp group!

Do I have to be Catholic to join?

Not at all! YEAPs is open to anyone who is curious about faith, looking for a supportive community, or just wants to meet like-minded young adults.

Is there a cost to join?

No, there’s no membership fee. Some events may have costs (e.g. retreat fees, meals), but we aim to keep things affordable for everyone.

How do I stay updated on events?

The best way is to join our WhatsApp group, where we post all upcoming meet-ups and announcements.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course! We love meeting new people, and everyone is welcome to join our gatherings.

I’m interested, but I’m nervous about joining alone.

We totally get it! Our community is super welcoming, and there are always friendly faces to greet you. Just come along, and we’ll make sure you feel at home.

We Are St Mary’s

St Mary’s Cathedral stands as a place of faith, history, and community in the heart of Perth. More than just a landmark, it is a sacred space where generations have gathered to worship, celebrate, and find solace.
Rooted in tradition and open to all, we welcome everyone to experience the beauty of our liturgy, the warmth of our community, and the call to serve. Whether you come to pray, connect, or contribute, you are part of the living story of St Mary’s.
